Toll cost is significantly lower compared to the full NICE route.

Hello BHPians,
Last week, I had the opportunity to try an alternate route while driving from Krishnagiri to Hospete, aiming to bypass the usual Bangalore traffic mess. The drive was quite smooth and enjoyable with decent road conditions, minimal traffic, and lower toll charges compared to the NICE road.
You can see the entire stretch with dashcam footage, which should give a clear view of the road conditions along the way.
Here’s the route I took:
- Krishnagiri → Shoolagiri (NH44)
- Shoolagiri → Berigai (State Highway 422)
- Berigai → Malur (via Masti – smooth rural road with sparse traffic)
- Malur → National Expressway 7 (Malur– Kolar Road)
- NE7 → Satellite Town Ring Road (NE7 – Excellent Road)
- STRR → Dobbaspet (NH648)
- Dobbaspet → Chitradurga (NH48 – Excellent Condition)
- Chitradurga → Hospete (NH50 – Decent surface)
Key Highlights:
- Completely avoids Bangalore - no messy ORR or NICE Road traffic.
- Road conditions are overall good, with only a few short patchy stretches.
- Toll cost is significantly lower compared to the full NICE route.
- Adds a bit in terms of distance and time, but the drive is far less stressful.
Hope this helps anyone planning a similar route. Happy to answer any questions!
Drive safe!
