Eicher-Polaris Flexituff spied again; interiors revealed

Earlier this month, a test mule of the upcoming Flexituff small commercial vehicle from Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries was spotted. The vehicle has been spotted once again and the spy images reveal a little more information about it.

The version of the Flexituff spotted seems to be a double cab micro-pickup design. It has a large front windscreen with a single wiper. While most of the car is heavily clad as most test mules are, a small cut-out in the cladding for the number plate reveals that the bumper will get a matt black finish which extends around the wheel arches. At the rear, there is a pair of vertical tail lamp clusters. The vehicle is seen riding on 13 or 14-inch steel wheels.

The interior of the Flexituff, as expected, is pretty basic. There is a grey dashboard with a basic, three-pot instrument cluster and a lockable glovebox. The stalks for the wipers and lights for the lights are mounted on the steering column. What is interesting is that the gear lever is mounted on the dashboard as well and there is a bench seat at the front. This arrangement is likely to allow three-abreast seating.

The Flexituff is expected to be powered by a Greaves-sourced 600 cc diesel engine, which is rumoured to be able to return 25 kilometres to a litre of diesel.
