Emflux Model 1 electric bike to be unveiled at 2018 Auto Expo

Emflux Motors - a Bangalore-based start-up will be unveiling their first electric superbike at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Emflux Model 1 is claimed to be India’s first electric bike that will offer superbike levels of performance.

From the initial design sketches of the Model 1, it appears to be based around a tubular chassis. The bike would feature a single sided swing arm with a monoshock rear suspension and Ohlins upside-down front forks. The instrument cluster will consist of a 7.0-inch TFT display that will have integrated GPS navigation along with features like real- time vehicle diagnostics and bike-to-bike connectivity. The electric bike will be able receive automatic software updates. Owners will be able to keep track of the status of their bikes through a mobile app.

The Emflux Mobile 1 is powered by a liquid-cooled AC induction motor that produces 67 BHP and a peak torque of 84 Nm @ 8,600 rpm. The company claims that it will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds and will top out at 200 km/h. The bike uses Samsung lithium-ion batteries that are claimed to offer a maximum range of 200 km on a single charge. Brakes have been sourced from Brembo and come in the form of twin discs in the front and a single disc in the rear. It has regenerative braking and dual-channel ABS sourced from Continental.

The Emflux Model 1 has been designed and developed in India and is currently in its testing phase.
