EU: Camaro & Corvette sales to stop due to emission rules

According to a media report, Chevrolet will stop sales of the Camaro V8 and the Corvette C7 in Europe from September 1, 2019 when the new Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test (WLTP) emission norms set in.

The WLTP norms came into force in September 2018, and the new regulations for 2019 will make the Camaro V8 and Corvette non-compliant. The rules will be applicable in the European Union (EU). It is reported that sales of the models will continue in Switzerland, as the country is not part of the EU.

The Corvette C8 is expected to debut on 18th July 2019, but details of the car have not been released. It is expected to have a mid-mounted V8 engine that could meet the new emission norms.
