Exports of the made-in-India Jeep Compass Trailhawk commence

Jeep India has started exporting the Compass to right-hand drive markets. The first batch of 600 units shipped to Australia and Japan include the Trailhawk variant made at the Ranjangaon plant.

The Compass Trailhawk gets blacked-out roof and B-pillars and has a bonnet decal. It also gets revised bumpers with integrated red coloured tow hooks that sit exposed as well as skid plates for underbody protection. It also comes with all-weather floor mats.

The Trailhawk rides on dual-tone alloy wheels wrapped in on/off road tyres. It sits on a raised suspension which is 20 mm higher compared to the standard Compass. The result is an increased approach (30 degrees), breakover (24.4 degrees) and departure (33.6 degrees) angles.

It is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The Selec-Terrain 4WD system comes standard on this model. Apart from a low-range gearbox, it comes with 5 settings - Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud and Rock. Hill Decent control is standard on this variant.

While the production of the Compass Trailhawk has started, there has been no news whether the variant will be introduced in India.
