FAW Besturn X80 (Chinese SUV) spotted in India

The Besturn X80, an SUV built by Chinese carmaker - FAW has been spotted in India. The car was seen on a flatbed truck and does not have a registration plate.

The X80 measures 4,586 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 1,695 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,675 mm. The car has black cladding along its sides, silver skid plates, black roof rails, chrome door handles and alloy wheels. Some of the badging on the tailgate appears to be in Chinese. On the inside, it has 5 seats.

In international markets, the Besturn X80 is available with a choice of two 4-cylinder petrol engines -

• 1,999cc, 145 BHP @ 6,500 rpm, 184 Nm @ 4,000 rpm
• 2,259cc, 158 BHP @ 6,500 rpm, 207 Nm @ 4,000 rpm

Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

It is difficult to say what this X80 is doing in India. There appear to be no records regarding the import of the car.
