Fiat Punto Evo launched at Rs. 4.55 lakh

Italian carmaker, Fiat has launched the Punto Evo in India at prices starting from of Rs. 4.55 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The Punto Evo replaces the Punto hatchback in the market.

The Punto Evo features a number of changes to the exterior and the interior, which distinguish it from its predecessor. At the front of the car, are reindeer headlamps, a new black grille with 2 horizontal slats and a chrome outline. There is a new bumper with a redesigned air dam and fog lamp housings outlined with. The bonnet has also been restyled and now has a power bulge. At the rear, there are new LED tail lamps and a tweaked bumper with larger housings for the reflectors with chrome outlines. There is a horizontal chrome stripe that runs across the bumper.

The Punto Evo comes with 14-inch steel or 15-inch or 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels depending upon the variant. The car is available in seven body colours - Glitterati Gold, Magnesio Grey, Exotica Red, Minimal Grey, Hip Hop Black, Vocal White and Tuscan Wine.

Coming to the interiors we find that the dashboard bears a striking resemblance to that of the Linea facelift and has a much more upmarket look compared to the current car. While it is available in a two-tone theme on the regular variants of the car, the Sport variant has an all-black theme. The Punto Evo is equipped with features like rear air vents, ambient light, all four auto down power windows, dual stage driver side airbag and smart wipers.

Mechanically, the Punto Evo is identical to the old Punto. The engine range includes 1.2-litre, 68 PS and 1.4-litre, 90 PS petrol engines a 1.3-litre, MultiJet diesel, which can be had in 76 PS and 93 PS configurations. A 5-speed manual transmission is the only gearbox on offer.

Fiat is offering a 3-year with an option of extending it by 2 more years on the Punto Evo. A 3-year / 45,000 km total maintenace repair program is also available.
