Flipkart to buy 25,000 EVs; fleet to be 100% electric by 2030

Flipkart has already started deploying electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers in select cities.

Flipkart has announced that it will buy 25,000 electric vehicles to achieve 100% transition to electric mobility by 2030.

Flipkart has already started deploying electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers in select cities including Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati and Pune. The company's fleet will also include electric 4-wheelers.

The EVs will be designed and assembled in India. The company has partnered with multiple EV makers including Hero Electric, Mahindra Electric and Piaggio to deploy its first and last mile delivery fleet across India. It includes models like the Nyx, Treo Zor and Ape E-Xtra FX.

Flipkart also plans to install charging infrastructure close to its supply chain facilities. The company will conduct awareness programs to encourage its delivery executives to use EVs.
