Force Motors has announced the launch of its Urbania range of vans with prices starting at Rs 28.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Urbania is based on the next-generation T1N platform that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. It has a modular monocoque architecture designed with a 2-box construction. The van is available in three variants: a short wheelbase 10-seater, a medium wheelbase 13-seater and a long wheelbase 17-seater.
The Urbania is powered by a Mercedes-derived diesel engine that produces 113 BHP and 350 Nm @ 1,400-2,200 rpm. It uses independent front suspension with transverse springs, a first in its segment.
According to Force Motors, the Urbania is the first vehicle in its category to offer crash and rollover compliance with airbags for the driver and co-driver. It comes with ventilated disc brakes all around supported by ESP, ABS, EBD and ETDC.
Force Motors has set up a dedicated manufacturing facility for the Urbania. The first phase has an installed capacity of 1,000 units per month, which can be increased to 2,000 units per month.
