A Ford EcoSport in Titanium S trim was spotted near Ford's manufacturing plant near Chennai. This suggests that Ford might introduce a sporty variant of the EcoSport when it arrives in its updated avatar later this month.

The image clearly reveals the 'Titanium S' badge. A similar "S" moniker was introduced on the Fiesta in 2008. So, could this be a more fun to drive variant, like the erstwhile Fiesta 1.6S? The "TDCi" badge indicates that the vehicle has a diesel engine. The test mule was reportedly riding on new alloy wheels with a sporty design and in a grey finish. Feature wise, it should get all the kit from the Titanium variant including the new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

According to media reports, Ford is expected to introduce a new 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder Dragon series petrol engine with the EcoSport. This engine develops between 123 and 128 BHP in the recently launched Brazilian Ecosport. Ford hasn't officially confirmed this and neither have they announced any details about the Titanium S variant. Availability of the petrol Titanium S variant is still unclear.
