Ford resumes export production at Tamil Nadu plant

Ford is said to have very limited export production left to complete.

Ford has resumed production for exports at its Tamil Nadu plant after striking workers agreed to return to work.

A section of employees had gone on strike on May 30 demanding a better severance package. Reports suggest that more than 300 workers have now given their consent to resume production at the plant. It is said that the assembly line has started operating in double shifts from June 14.

Ford has announced that the severance package would only be available to those employees who resume production from June 14 and support the company in completing the production schedule.

Ford is said to have very limited export production left to complete and if the employees don’t resume work, there is a chance that the company would call off production of the remaining export volumes and bring vehicle production to a close.
