Ford teases 690+ BHP Mustang Shelby GT500

Ford has released a teaser video of the third-generation Mustang Shelby GT500.

From the outside, the overall shape of the Mustang is retained while changes include 10-spoke blackened alloy wheels with red brake calipers, black quad-exhaust tips, black hood vents, new rear wing and a new front splitter. In the teaser video, the first Shelby GT500 is shown to transform into the new car.

A supercharged V8 engine will power the new Shelby GT500. Compared to the original 1967 Shelby GT500, the 2019 version is claimed to twice as powerful. The car is claimed to be the most powerful street-legal production car built by Ford.

The Mustang Shelby GT500 is expected to go on sale in 2019 and will compete against the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.
