Ford testing a Figo crossover?

Ford could be working on a Figo-based crossover for the Indian market. Spy shots reveal a heavily camouflaged test mule of the car.

The car, which was probably spotted at a yard, can be seen sporting alloy wheels in a new multi-spoke design. It has black cladding around the front and rear bumpers, sides and wheel arches. Additionally, the car also has roof rails that are usually seen on crossovers.

The Figo is due for a mid-life facelift. It is not clear whether this apparent crossover version will come with the facelift. That said, test mules of the Figo facelift (Ford Ka) have already been spotted in South America.

The Figo facelift is expected to get cosmetic updates along with some interior alterations. These would include a new SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system, which has been missing on the Figo. It will likely be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Ford is expected to offer a new Dragon series engine in the Figo facelift. The new 1.2-litre petrol unit is believed to be derivative of the 1.5-litre engine that is expected to debut in the EcoSport facelift.
