Ford trademarks BaseCamp name in India

Ford has filed a trademark application for the BaseCamp name in India.

The BaseCamp name is not new to the brand. In Australia and New Zealand, the Ford Everest (Endeavour) is available in the BaseCamp trim. It is essentially an off-road oriented accessory pack which includes a nudge bar, bonnet protector, snorkel, tow bar, LED light bar, roof-mounted carry bars, Pioneer roof platform, awning, etc.

In India, the Endeavour BaseCamp could be offered with a similar off-road focused kit. Besides this, no mechanical changes are expected.

Earlier this month, Ford introduced the Endeavour Sport - a new top variant in the SUV's range. It features black exterior details like smoked LED headlamps, a black front grille, black roof rails, new black alloys, SPORT decals on doors & tailgate, black ORVMs, fender grille and side steps.

The Endeavour Sport is powered by the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine rated at 168 BHP and 420 Nm. The engine will be paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and a 4-wheel drive system. The Endeavour BaseCamp could also get the same engine and transmission.
