Gurpratap Boparai quits Skoda Auto Volkswagen India

Gurpratap Boparai was appointed as the head of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India on April 2, 2018.

Mr Gurpratap Boparai has resigned from the post of Managing Director, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd. Christian Cahn von Seelen will take interim charge of the VW Group’s Indian operations from January 1, 2022.

Boparai played a pivotal role in the reorganization of the company as part of the India 2.0 project. Products like the Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun were launched under this watch. The upcoming Slavia mid-size sedan is also part of the same product strategy.

Prior to taking charge of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, Boparai has served as the CEO of Fiat India. He has also worked with Tata Motors, Tata Cummins and IVECO.
