Hero Cycles acquires German e-bike maker HNF

Hero Cycles has acquired German e-bike manufacturer HNF Group, with an aim to achieve a 5% market share in the global e-bike market by 2022.

The Hero Motors Company (HMC) plans to investment in design, brand, distribution and supply chain to further strengthen HNF. The Bitterfeld factory will evolve into a R&D application center. It will employ high-end manufacturing processes like Kanban and Lean Production. Hero India will support with back-end manufacturing & supply chain from India. HMC will also leverage HNF's e-bike design and engineering strengths.

The acquisition of Avocet Sports has allowed Hero Cycles to build a strong presence in the UK. The company also has a Global Design Centre in Manchester.
