Hero MotoCorp to invest Rs. 420 crore in Ather Energy

Hero MotoCorp to partner with Ather Energy to develop charging infrastructure and EV technology

Hero MotoCorp will be investing up to Rs. 420 crore in Ather Energy.

Hero MotoCorp was one of the early investors in the Bangalore-based EV start-up. The company raised its stake to 34.58% in July 2020 and later invested an additional Rs. 89 crore as part of the Series D round.

Besides raising its stake in Ather Energy, Hero MotoCorp also plans to collaborate with the start-up to develop charging infrastructure and EV technology. The company is working towards building an EV ecosystem comprising of a sales and service network, along with customer care and operations.

The announcement comes ahead of the planned launch of Hero MotoCorp's first electric vehicle that is expected to debut in March 2022.
