Hero MotoCorp's first electric 2-wheeler coming in 2022

Hero MotoCorp and Taiwan-based Gogoro have been working on fixed as well as swappable battery technology.

Electric 2-wheelers are slowly gaining popularity in India. With big names like Bajaj Auto and TVS entering the fray, customers now have a handful of options to choose from. Hero MotoCorp is yet to enter this space but that is about to change.

Niranjan Gupta, CFO, Hero MotoCorp, has confirmed that the company will launch its first electric 2-wheeler in the first quarter of 2022.

While details about the new model are scarce, it is said that the company has been working on fixed as well as swappable battery technology in collaboration with Taiwan-based Gogoro.
