Hero's new 110cc motorcycle with iSmart technology spotted

Hero MotoCorp introduced the i3S technology on the Splendor commuter motorcycle in 2014. The bike is called Splendor iSmart. Now the company appears to be planning to use the technology in its other products as well. A test mule of a motorcycle, believed to be the iSmart version of the Passion has been spotted.

The i3S technology features an idle stop-start system, which automatically shuts the engine while idling and turns it on when the rider twists the throttle. This system is said to enhance the fuel efficiency of the bike.

The Passion iSmart is rumoured to be powered by a 110cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine. The spy pic shows that the engine cylinder is vertically mounted. It is possible that this is the first in-house developed engine from the company.

Other features seen on the bike include black alloy wheels, a split grab rail, clear lens turn-indicators and a blue instrument cluster.
