Honda CB Unicorn 160: 1 lakh sales up!

The Honda CB Unicorn 160 was launched in India in December 2014. Data sourced from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) reveals that close to 93,700 units of the bike have been sold since then. Honda claims that sales have crossed the 1,00,000 mark during July 2015.

The highest number of buyers of the Unicorn 160 is from the state of Maharashtra. The bike hs also found a large number of buyers in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

The Unicorn 160 is powered by a 163 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine that develops 14.5 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 14.61 Nm of torque @ 6000 rpm. The engine features Honda Eco Technology (HET) and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Honda claims that the bike can return a fuel economy figure of 62 kpl.

The CB Unicorn 160 uses a telescopic fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It has a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear and is available with Honda's Combi-Brake System (CBS).

Equipment includes a digital instrument cluster, "H" shaped tail light, floating side cowl, saree guard and 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 80/100 and 110/80 section tyres at the front and rear respectively.
