Honda CBR 650F details leaked ahead of launch

With the launch of the Honda CBR 650F nearing, the specifications of the bike have been leaked on the internet. The leaked document shows a comparison between the CBR 650F and its rivals - Kawasaki Ninja 650, Triumph Street Triple 675 and Ducati Monster 790.

The CBR 650F has a steel diamond frame with a telescopic fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with a 120/70 section tyre at the front and a 180/55 section tyre at the rear. The bike has a 17.3-litre fuel tank and kerb weight of 211 kg.

The CBR 650F is powered by a 649cc, inline 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 4-stroke petrol engine that develops 86 BHP @ 11,000 rpm and 63 Nm of torque @ 8,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Stopping power comes from 320 mm dual disc brakes and a single 240 mm disc brake at the front and rear respectively. ABS is available as a part of standard equipment.

Honda is expected to officially start accepting bookings in August. However, according to some media reports, dealers have already accepting bookings for bike. The booking amount is pegged at Rs. 50,000. The bike is expected to be available in only one colour scheme - red / white / blue.
