Honda displays CB Hornet 160R; CB Trigger to be axed

Honda has displayed the CB Hornet 160R motorcycle at Revfest. The bike is expected to be launched in India later this year.

The Hornet 160R is based on the CB Unicorn 160. However, it features a more aggressive styling. It has a sharply styled fuel tank, a single contoured seat, new headlamp and a short, sporty silencer. Other features include clear lens indicators, silver grab rails and black, 5-spoke alloy wheels.

The Hornet is expected to carry over the same 163 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine and 5-speed gearbox that is found in the Unicorn 160. This engine develops 14.5 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 14.61 Nm of torque @ 6000 rpm in the Unicorn and features Honda Eco Technology (HET).

Stopping power comes from single petal disc brakes at the front and rear. Honda has fitted the Hornet with its comb-brake system (CBS). The bike has a telescopic fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

The Hornet 160R will replace the slow-selling CB Trigger in India.
