Honda launches Jazz hatchback at Rs. 5.31 lakh

Honda has launched the new third-generation Jazz hatchback in India at prices starting from Rs. 5.31 lakh.

The new Jazz has as silhouette similar to the second-generation car. However, it is longer than the old car by 55 mm and has a 30 mm longer wheelbase as well, which has resulted in more interior space. At the front, the Jazz has a piano black grille at the front with a chrome strip running along its lower edge. On the sides, there are a couple of character lines and at the rear, there is a large chrome strip located just below the rear windshield, running between the two tail lamps. Overall, the car looks sportier than its predecessor.

The car is available in E, S, SV, V and VX trim tevels. Some of the features available in the top end VX include a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, climate control with a touch control panel, an AVN system with a 15.7 cm touchscreen, DVD player, navigation, black fabric upholstery, seat back pockets, adjustable rear head restraints, 60:40 split rear seats, rear seats multi-utility modes and rear seat reclining (magic seats). Other features include rear windshield washer and wiper, alloy wheels, electrically-retractable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob. Safety features include ABS with EBD and dual front airbags.

That Jazz is available with a choice of two engines:

1.2-litre, 4-cylinder i-VTEC petrol, 89 BHP, 110 Nm, 5-speed manual transmission / CVT
1.5-litre, 4-cylinder i-DTEC diesel, 99 BHP, 200 Nm, 6-speed manual transmission

The ARAI certified fuel economy for the petrol engine is 18.7 and 19.0 kpl for the manual transmission and CVT respectively, while that of the diesel engine is 27.3 kpl.
