Honda Super EV concept to preview new city electric car

It takes styling inspiration from the previous Honda E.

Honda is set to unveil a new EV concept at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Called the Super EV Concept, it takes styling inspiration from the previous Honda E. It is said to compete in the hatchback A-segment and will go up against cars like the Hyundai Inster, Fiat 500e and the upcoming Renault Twingo.

Honda hasn’t hinted at any technical details yet but the carmaker is keen to show how a small affordable EV can be fun to drive. The car has already been tested in the UK and is set for a global roll-out once it goes into production.

Honda plans to launch seven new EVs in the coming years, using a new platform, new batteries and new motor technologies. Also in the line are 13 hybrid models to be launched globally by 2030.

The Super EV Concept will be unveiled in full at the Festival of Speed, which will take place between 10 and 13 July in West Sussex. Honda will also showcase the 0 Series SUV concept in Europe for the first time, as well as the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition. The new Prelude coupé will also run up the famed Goodwood hill climb.
