Huawei Seres SF5 electric SUV revealed; claims 1000 km range

Huawei has introduced its first electric car in the Chinese market, the SF5 e-SUV. The new electric SUV will be sold under the 'Seres' brand and will retail at Huawei's flagship stores across China.

Huawei, the Chinese smartphone maker has showcased its first car, the Seres SF5 extended-range electric SUV at the ongoing 2021 Shanghai Auto Show.

The new electric SUV has been launched in China under the 'Seres' brand. The new Seres SF5 will retail at Huawei flagship stores across China from April 21, 2021.

The new Huawei Seres SF5 SUV is said to be offered in both 2WD and 4WD options, at a starting price of CNY 216,800 (equivalent to Rs 25.20 lakh), exclusive of taxes.

The new Seres SF5 comes equipped with a 'three-in-one' electric drive system, called Huawei OneDrive. This system is claimed to offer world-class performance while also offering a solution to the range anxiety of customers.

While the exact technical details are yet to be revealed, the Huawei Seres SF5 is said to come with multiple electric motors and offers 180 km of max range in pure-electric mode.

The SF5 is also said to feature an ICE unit, which acts only as a generator, increasing the range to 1000 km when necessary. Huawei also claims that the SF5 SUV is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in just 4.68 seconds.

In terms of features, the Seres SF5 e-SUV is said to come with Huawei HiCar, which allows users to seamlessly transition from their smartphones to the vehicles central control panel. HiCar also offers remote access to the car's function.

The Seres SF5 is also said to come with vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) charge modes. A few other features also include L2+ level automatic assisted driving, adaptive cruise control, traffic congestion assistance, front seats with ventilation, heating and massage functions, smart welcome and many more.
