Hyundai Creta facelift launched at Rs. 9.43 lakh

Hyundai has launched the Creta facelift with prices starting at Rs. 9,43,908 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

In terms of its proportions, the 2018 Creta is identical to the outgoing model. It measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width and 1,630 mm in height. It has a 2,590 mm wheelbase and a 55 litre fuel tank.

The new Creta gets an updated exterior with a new front grille surrounded by a chrome frame and revised headlamps with projectors. The front bumper has also been redesigned and features new fog lamps with C-shaped LED DRLs and a silver scuff plate. The rear gets wraparound tail lights and a redesigned dual-tone bumper. The SUV is now available with 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, electric sunroof and dual-tone exterior colour options.

On the inside, the new Creta comes with minor additions like soft touch paint, leatherette finish on the doors, steering wheel and seats. Hyundai is also offering a new Tangerine Orange Interior Colour pack with the dual-tone version.

The equipment list consists of a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink connectivity options. It has integrated app-based navigation, audio streaming and smartphone applications. Other new features include 6-way power adjustable driver seat, cruise control and a wireless phone charger. Hyundai is also offering a Smart Key Band which comes with an in-built fitness tracker controlled via a smartphone app.

The new Creta is available with two four-cylinder diesel engines and one petrol engine. The 1.4-litre diesel makes 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 220 Nm @ 1,500-2,750 rpm, while the 1.6-litre diesel engine produces 126 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 260 Nm @ 1,500-3,000 rpm. The only petrol on offer is a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder unit producing 121 BHP @ 6,400 rpm and 151 Nm of torque @ 4,850 rpm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Safety features like dual airbags, ABS and EBD are standard across all variants. The top-end variant gets curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM). Other safety features include Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), rear parking assist and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors.

The 2018 Hyundai Creta is available in 7 single-tone colour options including the newly introduced Marina Blue and Passion Orange shades. Additionally, there are 2 dual-tone exterior colour themes to choose from.
