Hyundai Creta official site goes live

Hyundai is building up the anticipation for the Creta in the run up to its launch. After revealing design sketches, the car's official website is now live, confirming that the launch isn't too far away. The Creta is also seen under the showroom section of Hyundai India's website. Those interested in the vehicle can submit their details to the site and get updates directly from Hyundai.

The Creta is based on Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy and is expected to look like a smaller version of the Santa Fe. Design traits will include a singular hexagonal radiator grille with three horizontal slats, projector headlamps, faux skid plates, and black body cladding.

On the inside, expect a dual-tone dashboard, multi-function steering wheel, climate control, LCD display for the infotainment system, and a central armrest at the front, along with cup holders for the front row passengers. There also appear to be rear AC vents.

The Creta will not be sub-4 metre model, and is likely to be a challenger for the Renault Duster or Nissan Terrano. It will have 5 seats and could be powered by 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. A 1.4-litre diesel power plant is also a likely option. Reports speculate a launch towards the end of July.
