Hyundai Creta scores 3-stars in Global NCAP test

The SUV scored 8.00 points for adult occupant safety and 28.29 points for child protection.

The Hyundai Creta has been awarded a 3-star rating by Global NCAP. The SUV scored 8.00 points for adult occupant safety and 28.29 points for child protection.

As per the test report, the Creta offered adequate protection to the driver's head, while head protection for the passenger was rated as good. Driver and passenger’s neck showed good protection. The driver’s chest showed marginal protection while the passenger’s chest showed good protection. Knee protection for the front passengers was rated as marginal. Driver tibias showed weak and adequate protection while passenger tibias showed good and adequate protection.

The bodyshell was rated as unstable and it was not capable of withstanding further loadings. Footwell area was rated as unstable.

The child seat for a 3-year old could not prevent excessive forward movement of the head, while chest protection was weak. The car offered good protection to the head and chest of a 1.5-year old.

The test car was equipped with front seat belt pre-tensioners, seat belt reminder, dual front airbags and ABS.
