Hyundai delivers 1 lakh Grand i10 cars in 10 months

Hyundai Motor India, which is the country's second largest carmaker, has announced that it has delivered a total of 1 lakh units of the Grand i10 hatchback. Launched in September 2013, the car has achieved this milestone in just ten months, making it the fastest to breach the 1 lakh mark. Earlier, the Grand i10 entered the list of top 5 most selling brands in the country within two months of its launch.

The Grand i10 showcases Hyundai's Fluidic design philosophy. It is available with a choice of two engines - petrol and diesel and in four trim levels - Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta. The petrol version is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder unit that develops 82 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque @ 4000 rpm. The car is available with a choice of two transmissions - 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel version has a 1.1-litre, 3-cylinder engine that puts out 70 bhp @ 4000 rpm and 160 Nm of torque @ 1500-2750 rpm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is the only transmission available on the diesel.
