Hyundai Elite i20 gets Apple CarPlay & Android Auto

Hyundai has made some feature-related changes to the Elite i20 hatchback. The car has also been given new paint schemes, including two new dual-tone colours.

The Elite i20's feature list includes an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that now comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link. This new AVN system is available only on the Asta and Asta (O) variants. Lower trim levels will continue to be offered with a basic 2-DIN audio system with FM and MP3 support.

The automaker has also made some feature-related alterations in other variants. The reverse parking sensor and camera is now not available on the Sportz variant, while the Asta variant misses out on the automatic headlamp feature.

The Elite i20 has been given two new dual-tone colour options - Red Passion & Phantom Black and Pearl White & Phantom Black. In both these schemes, the cars get a black treatment on the roof and pillars. The dual-tone colour schemes are available only in the Asta trim level. Customers opting for the dual-tone paint scheme will also get a new black cabin layout with orange inserts. Additionally, a new Marina Blue paint shade has also been introduced.

No mechanical changes have been made to the Elite i20. As a result, it continues to be offered with three powertrain options. The 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine churns out 82 BHP and 115 Nm of torque with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit is rated at 89 BHP and 220 Nm, while being mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The automatic variant is equipped with a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol powerplant that develops 99 BHP and 132 Nm of torque with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
