Hyundai has announced its plan to expand its EV line up in India. The carmaker will launch six battery electric vehicles (BEV) by 2028.
Hyundai's BEV range will be offered in multiple body styles and will cater to multiple segments including the Mass market and Mass Premium segments in India.
The carmaker will introduce the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). It will feature a flat floor, slim cockpit and flexible cabin with a sliding console and 2nd row of seats.
The E-GMP platform supports EVs with a 77.4 kWh battery pack with 2WD and 4WD capabilities. The cars are said to achieve a top speed of 260 km/h.
Hyundai will also work towards the development of EV infrastructure in India. This includes facilities like home charging, public charging stations, charging points at Hyundai dealerships and 24x7 roadside assistance.
At present, Hyundai offers the Kona Electric in India, which is the company's sole all-electric offering.
