Hyundai plans to launch four mass-market EVs in India, starting with the Creta EV, which is expected to be launched in early 2025. Besides this, three more EVs are planned to challenge Tata Motors, which currently has the highest market share in the passenger EV segment.
The Creta EV will rival the Tata Curvv.ev and the upcoming Maruti eVX. A smaller electric crossover based on the Inster EV is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2026. It will compete with the Punch.ev.
As per the latest media reports, Hyundai is also planning to launch pure electric versions of the Venue and Grand i10 NIOS. The Venue EV will be based on the next-generation iteration of the compact SUV. It is being touted as a Nexon.ev rival.
The Grand i10 NIOS-based electric hatchback will compete with the Tiago.ev, which has no direct rivals at present. Technical details such as battery capacity, range, and specifications of the electric motors that will power these EVs are not known.
