This year, Hyundai is kicking off its product offensive with the much-awaited Creta Electric. The carmaker has planned an EV onslaught with three new made-in-India electric cars scheduled to launch in the short to mid-term.
Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India, said, “Three more models will come in after the Creta Electric and that will also drive up the volumes.”
Garg also mentioned that the upcoming EVs will include both born electric and ICE-derived models. All future EVs will be locally produced alongside the Creta Electric.
Garg did not disclose any details of the planned EVs. However, reports suggest that Hyundai is likely to introduce an electric sub-compact SUV to rival the Punch.ev in 2026. It will be based on the E-GMP (K) platform, offering a range of up to 355 km (WLTP cycle).
Hyundai might also introduce pure-electric versions of the Venue and Grand i10 NIOS. While the Venue Electric could compete with the Nexon.ev, the Grand i10-based electric hatchback could be a worthy rival for the Tiago.ev.
