Hyundai Santro scores 2-stars in Global NCAP crash test

The Hyundai Santro has scored 2-stars for both adult and child occupant safety in crash tests conducted by Global NCAP.

According to the test report, the car offered good protection to the head and neck of the driver and passenger. Protection for the driver's chest was weak, while protection for the passenger’s chest was rated as marginal. Protection for the driver's and passenger’s knees was marginal. The bodyshell of the car was rated as unstable.

A front-facing child seat for a 3 year old was not able to prevent excessive forward movement and offered poor protection to the head and fair protection to the chest. The Child Restraint System (CRS) for an 18 month old child showed good protection.

The test car was equipped with a driver side airbag, seat belt reminder for driver and ABS.
