Hyundai Solaris (Verna) facelift launched in Russia

South Korean carmaker, Hyundai has launched the Solaris facelift in Russia. The Solaris, which is sold as the Verna in India, has been given updates to the exterior to keep it looking fresh.

At the front, there are larger headlamps and a new twin-slat grille. The bumper has been redesigned and houses restyled fog lamps and daytime running lights at both ends. The air dam is now wider and sits lower in the bumper.

The changes at the rear are minimal. The tail lamps of the car now have LEDs and the bumper gets a mild tweak with restyled reflectors. The interior of the car is unchanged.

The Solaris is available with a choice of two petrol engines - 1.4-litre with 106 bhp and 1.6-litre with 121 bhp. While the 1.4 is offered with a choice of a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, the 1.6 can be bought with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Hyundai has priced the Solaris from 4,73,900-6,39,900 Russian Rubles  (Rs. 8.29 lakh - Rs. 11.19 lakh).

The cosmetic changes that have been seen to the Solaris could make it to the Indian Verna in 2015. However, it is not clear whether Hyundai Motor India will make any mechanical changes to car.
