Hyundai Verna bookings open. Variant details out

Hyundai has started accepting bookings for the next-gen Hyundai Verna. Customers can place their bookings online by paying an initial amount of Rs. 25,000 till August 21. The car is scheduled to be launched on August 22, 2017.

According to Hyundai's website, the new Verna will be available in seven colour options - Polar White, Fiery Red, Star Dust, Sleek Silver, Thunder Black, Siena Brown and Flame Orange.

The next-gen Verna is based on Hyundai's K2 platform. It is expected to be available with a 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel unit - each offered in 6 variants. These engines will be carried over from the current car, but are claimed to be tweaked for better fuel efficiency. The 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines will not be available.

According to media reports, a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic will be available at launch. The automatic transmission will be available on the Auto EX and Auto SX(O) variants of the petrol version and Auto EX and Auto SX+ variants of the diesel version.

Spy images have revealed that the new Verna will get refreshed styling. The Fluidic 2.0-based design will incorporate a large chrome-lined grille, revised bumper, headlights with projectors and DRLs. Earlier, a teaser video released by Hyundai had revealed the car's new triple-pod tail lights. It will also get a revised interior with a new dashboard layout and redesigned multi-function steering wheel. The car will reportedly get a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display as well.
