Hyundai Xcent facelift caught testing in Chennai

Hyundai will soon be launching the Grand i10 facelift in India. With the hatchback receiving some mid-life updates, Hyundai now appears to have commenced testing of the 2017 Xcent facelift. The car was recently spotted testing under camouflage in Chennai.

The most prominent change visible is the new taillight assembly, which looks considerably larger than the one seen on the present model. The Xcent facelift is also expected to borrow some changes from the Grand i10 facelift, especially at the front. These include a larger, hexagonal front grille and boomerang-shaped fog lamp housings with integrated DRLs.

On the inside, the dashboard layout is expected to remain unchanged, though the infotainment system will be updated to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Xcent will also get a larger 1.2-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine, which is the same unit that will be offered with the Grand i10 facelift. This will be replacing the existing 1.1-litre, three-cylinder power mill. On the other hand, the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine is expected to be carried forward without any changes.

Hyundai is expected to launch the Xcent facelift in India later this year.
