Indian Chieftain Elite launched at Rs. 38 lakh

Indian Motorcycle has launched its limited edition Chieftain Elite in India priced at Rs. 38 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be imported into India as a completely built unit (CBU) but production is limited to just 350 units.

The Indian Chieftain Elite is based on a cast aluminium frame and measures 2,506 mm in overall length, 1,000 mm in width and 1,448 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 1,668 mm and the seat height is set at 660 mm. It has a 20.8-litre fuel tank and with fuel filled up, the bike weighs 388 kg.

In terms of styling, the Chieftain Elite has a large front cowl with a power adjustable windshield and a circular headlamp in the centre flanked by circular position lights on either side. It comes with a twin-dial instrument cluster with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, smartphone connectivity and navigation in the centre. It has a stepped leather seat and body coloured remote-locking panniers on either side. The engine, crankcase and exhausts are finished in chrome.

The Chieftain Elite is powered by a 1,811 cc, V-twin engine that produces a peak torque of 161.6 Nm @ 3,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission via a wet, multi-plate clutch. It has 119 mm telescopic fork in the front and a single 114 mm shock absorber with air adjust at the rear. Braking is handled by dual 300 mm discs in the front with 4-piston calipers and a single 300 mm disc in the rear with a 2-piston caliper.

The bike comes equipped with features like ABS, cruise control, keyless start, tyre pressure monitoring, 200 watt audio system with speakers mounted on the saddlebags and weatherband.

The Chieftain Elite comes in Black Hills Silver with Marble Accents hand painted colour scheme as standard.
