India's largest public EV charging station opens in Mumbai

The facility houses a total of 21 EV chargers, out of which 4 are DC fast chargers while the rest are AC chargers.

The Magenta Group has inaugurated what is claimed to be 'India's largest public EV charging station'. The facility is located in Navi Mumbai and will be open to the public 24x7. It will cater to all types of electric vehicles, including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers and 4-wheelers.

The facility houses a total of 21 EV chargers, out of which 4 are 15 to 50 kW DC fast chargers while the rest are 3.5 to 7.5 kW AC chargers. It is said that the fast chargers can fully charge an EV from 0-100% in about 45 minutes. Parking bays have been provided for those using the slow AC chargers, where customers can leave their vehicles overnight.

Customers can access the chargers using the ChargeGrid mobile app, which has features such as an online remote monitoring system and an automated payment gateway.

The charging station also has a backup diesel generator and rooftop solar panels that provide 40 kW of power.

The Magenta Group has also inaugurated a manufacturing unit at the same location. It will produce around 4,000 AC chargers every month.
