Kawasaki displays Versys 1000 at Pune showroom

In December last year, we had reported that Kawasaki was planning to launch the Versys 1000 motorcycle in India. Now the company has displayed the bike at its Wakdewadi showroom in Pune. This indicates that the launch of the bike could be near.

The Versys 1000 is an adventure tourer, with a 1,043 cc, liquid-cooled, in-line 4-cylinder engine, that develops 118 PS and 102 Nm of torque, which is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 6-speed gearbox. Stopping power for the bike is provided by 300 mm dual petal discs at the front and a single 250 mm petal disc at the rear.

The Versys 1000 features an aluminium twin-tube frame, a 43 mm, inverted fork suspension in the front and a horizontal back-link suspension at the rear. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels and has a 21-litre fuel tank. This bike will be offered in only one colour - black.

Kawasaki is expected to bring the Versys 1000 to India through the CBU route. Bookings for the bike are rumoured to have already commenced.
