Kawasaki displays Z250 street bike at Tokyo Motor Show

Kawasaki has displayed its naked street bike, the Z250 at the Tokyo Motor Show.  Bearing similar styling to its bigger sibling, the Z1000, the Z250’s aggressive and in-your-face looks are guaranteed to turn heads.

The Z250 uses a diamond-type steel frame, telescopic front fork and a monoshock rear suspension. Single disc brakes have been provided on the front and rear multi-spoke alloy wheels.

The bike comes equipped with a power plant that compliments its looks. While Kawasaki has not disclosed power and torque figures, the 249 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder, fuel injected unit with dual throttle valves, mated to a 6-speed gearbox is expected to produce about 33 bhp. The engine was used in the now defunt, Ninja 250R.

There is no official word from Kawasaki on the launch of the Z250 in India. However, there have been reports that bookings for the Z1000 have commenced. This tempts us to believe that Kawasaki may be gearing up to expand its range.
