Kawasaki launches locally assembled Ninja ZX-10R, ZX-10RR

Kawasaki has launched the locally assembled Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-10RR motorcycles in India. While the former is priced at Rs. 12,80,000, the latter costs Rs. 16,10,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Kawasaki claims that these prices will be valid till the end of July 2018 after which, they will be increased.

While the new Ninja ZX-10R will be available in KRT edition along with few graphical changes, the new Ninja ZX-10RR will be available in black. Both the models will be produced in limited numbers. The total units of the Ninja ZX-10RR will be lesser than the total units of the Ninja ZX-10R, as the Ninja ZX-10RR’s global production is limited. The bookings for bikes are now open and will be closed after the allocated production and bookings are completed.

Both, the ZX-10R and ZX-10RR are powered by a 998cc, inline 4-cylinder, liquid cooled petrol engine that produces 197 BHP @ 13,000 rpm and 113.5 Nm of torque @ 11,500 rpm. A ram air intake bumps the power up to 207 BHP. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The bikes are equipped with features such as a quick shifter, launch control, engine brake control and ABS.

The local assembly of the bikes has helped Kawasaki to price them more competitively. As CBU models, the ZX-10R was priced at Rs. 18.80 and the ZX-10RR retailed for Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
