Kawasaki showcases a hybrid motorcycle prototype

The prototype features a petrol-powered, parallel-twin engine along with a 48V battery and an electric motor.

Kawasaki has showcased a hybrid motorcycle prototype at a presentation in Japan.

As per the available details, the prototype features a petrol-powered, parallel-twin engine along with a 48V battery and an electric motor.

The 48V battery is located under the seat whereas the electric motor is mounted above the transmission. The motorcycle runs on electric power in the city mode. Outside the city limits, the hybrid system comes into play and operates both the internal combustion engine and electric motor.

Kawasaki’s hybrid motorcycle prototype also features an automated gearshift system that uses an automated clutch and a servo-operated shifter. This allows for push-button changes.
