Kawasaki Vulcan S 650cc cruiser teased ahead of launch

Kawasaki India has uploaded a teaser image on its website, which suggests that the Vulcan S 650cc cruiser bike could be launched in India in the near future. 

The Vulcan S is based around a tubular diamond frame. It measures 2,310 mm in overall length and its width and height is 880 mm and 1,100 mm respectively. The wheelbase of the bike is 1,575 mm and it has a ground clearance of 130 mm. The bike's kerb weight is 229 kg and it comes with a 14-litre fuel tank.

The Vulcan S is cruiser bike with a low-slung seat, raised handlebars and adjustable foot pegs positioned for a relaxed riding posture. Clutch and brake levers can also be adjusted as per the rider's requirement. The bike features a circular headlight and instrument cluster with an LCD display. It comes with 41-mm telescopic front forks and a horizontal back-link rear suspension with 7-way adjustable preload. It rides on 5-spoke cast alloy wheels.

The 2017 Kawasaki Vulcan S is powered by a 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine. It is the same unit that powers the Ninja 650. Total output from the unit is 60 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 63 Nm is produced @ 6,600 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes equipped with disc brakes at both ends. In the front, it has a single 300 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper and a single 250 mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear. We might get the ABS version, though there has been no official word regarding this.

The Kawasaki Vulcan S will compete with the Harley Davidson Street 750 and the upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc twins in the Indian market.
