Key takeaways after doing an 800 km trip in my Kia Carens petrol DCT

The ride comfort was excellent and car performed well in ghats and on inclines. With half seat folded in the 3rd row, there was ample space for luggage for 4 days.

Recent trip experience:

We completed a trip of around 800 kms from Pune to Ratnagiri to Kolhapur and back to Pune in our Carens Lux+ petrol DCT.

There were 4 adults and 2 kids onboard. It was an awesome experience overall. The ride comfort was excellent and car performed well in ghats and on inclines. With half seat folded in the 3rd row, there was ample space for luggage for 4 days. All the passengers were comfortable and didn't experience any fatigue after the long drives. This being my first long trip in an automatic, I didn't feel any exertion after driving continuously for 3-4 hours. Features such as sun blinds, storage tray below co-passenger seat, ventilated seats and individual roof-mounted AC vents proved very useful.

On the fuel economy front, tank to tank average came upto 13 kmpl whereas MID was showing it as 14.5 kmpl. This was with 80:20 highway:city ratio with AC on full time.

Overall, I am highly impressed and satisfied with the Carens.
