Kia Optima caught testing in India

A test mule of the Kia Optima has been spotted in India for the first time, suggesting that the carmaker might be evaluating the D segment sedan for India.

The Kia Optima measures 4,855 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,465 mm in height, while its wheelbase is 2,805 mm. The car features Kia's tiger nose grille in the front flanked by sweptback headlights with integrated LED DRLs. The front bumper has a wide air dam with circular LED fog lamps on either side. Two additional vents have been positioned on both sides of the air dam.

In side profile, the Optima has a coupe-like roofline with blacked-out B and C-pillars. It has vents on the front fenders and gets ORVMs with integrated turn signals. The rear features wraparound tail lights, dual-tone bumper with integrated reflectors and a single chrome exhaust tip on the right.

On the inside, the car comes with a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a twin-pod instrument cluster with an MID in the center. The center console houses an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

In the international market, the Optima is offered with a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol, 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 1.7-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Kia also offers a standard warranty of 7-years on its cars.
