Kia Sonet base variant spotted with 2-DIN infotainment system

Spy images showing the interior of lower variants of the Kia Sonet sub-4 meter SUV have surfaced online.

The first image shows the interior of what is said to be the base variant. It has a 2-DIN infotainment system instead of a touchscreen and an adjustable steering wheel.

Another image reveals that the vehicle gets a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen head-unit, a 3-spoke steering wheel with steering-mounted controls only on the right-hand side, manual air-con, and a manual IRVM. This particular vehicle is said to be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine and has a 5-speed manual gearbox. It also gets silver inserts on the inside.

Reports suggest that the Sonet could get a GT Line trim with two top-spec variants - GTX and GTX Plus powered by the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Other engine options might include a 1.2-litre petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. Transmission options might include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a 6-speed iMT with an automated clutch.

The Sonet shares its platform with the Hyundai Venue and will be unveiled on August 7, 2020.
