Kia Sonet Diesel manual variant replaced with Diesel iMT

Kia Sonet 1.5-litre diesel variants now cost Rs 50,000 more.

Kia has announced that the Sonet Diesel MT variant will no longer be available. Customers looking for a diesel manual will be offered the Diesel iMT variant instead.

The Sonet is available with three engine options. The 1.5-litre diesel engine develops 114 BHP and 250 Nm and is now paired with a 6-speed iMT and 6-speed automatic. 

The crossover also comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit that puts out 118 BHP and 172 Nm. This engine is mated to either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT.

Kia has also revised the prices of the Sonet. The 1.5-litre diesel variants now cost Rs 50,000 more. The prices of the petrol variants have been increased by Rs 25,000, while the Petrol HTX DCT trim costs Rs 19,000 more.
