The car felt super roomy on the inside, somewhere between a Kia Sonet and Seltos.

Test drove the Syros Petrol DCT today at Chennai. Got to drive around 6 kilometers and had my parents along with me as well. My mom loved the looks of the Syros (she also loves the Wagon-R, meaning boxy, practical designs )
Likes:
- Very spacious, accommodating interiors with good thigh support and lots of flexibility
- Practical cabin with storage options right where one would need
- Car felt super roomy and from inside, it felt somewhere between a Sonet and Seltos in terms of space, but quality-wise, it was really good!
- Display (both infotainment and console) was really crisp and nice
- I loved the steering - felt a bit retro yet really upmarket. So was the rest of the cabin design - I was really impressed.
- Features and features - that's what this car is all about!
- Engine and gearbox were good and smooth. Though not as punchy as I would have imagined, it was good for my driving style.
Dislikes:
- Though the engine was refined, I found the overall outside noise penetrating much more than normal - all the bikes, conversations and autos were really audible inside
- Ventilated seats did not feel very effective to me, esp the rear ones, with just for the under-thigh
- Though the interiors are top-notch, the overall build was more like a 10 - 12 lakh car than a 22 lakh car - felt this more when we checked out the Kylaq right afterwards
- Ride quality - I felt it to be harsh and filtering a lot into the cabin. Felt this with Seltos too
- Pricing, Pricing and Pricing - HTK+ is where it ends, according to me. Suddenly, the Sonet feels super VFM and the seating comfort isn't that bad either
- I'm somewhere still not fully in with Hyundai or KIA for some reason (long-term quality issues with our Eon, a Creta of our friend, another friend's i20)
- Diesel Auto only in the top-end trims makes it absolutely out of bounds for anyone to look at this car for mere practicality. And for someone looking at a fill-it-shut-it-forget-it kind of ownership, only the MT makes a compelling argument.
I test drove four cars today, and though Syros was extremely impressive with the interiors, practicality and cabin quality, overall it still hasn't enticed me as an all-round package for the money involved in getting one.
