KTM has launched the 1290 Super Adventure S in India, priced at Rs 22.74 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the BMW R 1300 GS and Ducati Multistrada V4.
The 1290 Super Adventure S is a touring bike with a 1,301cc, twin-cylinder engine at its heart. It produces 158 BHP and 138 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter. The bike rides on a WP semi-active upside-down front fork and a semi-active monoshock. Braking is handled by twin 320 mm front discs and a 267 disc at the rear.
The 1290 Super Adventure S features a semi-faired design with an LED headlamp at the front, surrounding a radar sensor, a large windscreen, and a digital instrument console. The bike has a stepped seat and a single upswept exhaust.
The 1290 Super Adventure S is equipped with several electronic rider aids, including adaptive cruise control, lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, and riding modes.
